President Tinubu Vows Unyielding Support for Armed Forces Amid Rising Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has vowed that Nigeria will not yield to internal or external forces working to destabilize the country, stating that the nation remains unshaken in its fight against terrorism and insecurity.

Speaking to troops during a visit to the frontline in Katsina State on Friday, Tinubu praised the Nigerian armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice, while pledging his administration’s continued support to ensure their welfare and operational readiness.

“To those who seek to destabilize our nation, be they domestic collaborators or foreign agents, hear this: Nigeria will not bow, not to fear, not to terror, not to treachery,” Tinubu declared. “The Federal Government stands firmly behind you.”

The president’s remarks follow a string of violent incidents, including bomb attacks and raids across communities in Borno, Plateau, Benue, and Enugu states in recent weeks.

Acknowledging the difficult conditions under which the troops serve, Tinubu announced that bold steps were being taken to equip them with advanced weaponry, improved intelligence, and strengthened logistics. He emphasized that efforts to win the war against terror would go beyond military force, highlighting the importance of troop welfare.

“We are committed to ensuring your families are safe, your allowances are paid promptly, your healthcare is guaranteed, and your dignity upheld,” he said. “Housing programs, family support systems, insurance coverage, and improved remuneration are being implemented without delay.”

Describing the armed forces as the “silent guardians of our democracy,” Tinubu said their courage and resilience serve as an inspiration to the nation. “You face danger not for wealth or recognition, but for the love of our dear country. That is the highest form of patriotism.”

Tinubu concluded by reaffirming his full support as Commander-in-Chief, promising to match the military’s courage with investment and unwavering leadership. “You, the Nigerian military, are the spearhead of this fight. With your valour and discipline, peace shall prevail.”

The visit to the frontlines and Tinubu’s bold stance come at a time when public concern over insecurity has intensified, with citizens demanding decisive action to end the violence and restore safety across the nation.
