Sanwo-Olu Appoints Dapo Thomas as Chair of Lagos Civil Service Commission

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated the newly constituted Lagos State Civil Service Commission, appointing Mrs. Boladele Dapo-Thomas, a seasoned public administrator and retired Permanent Secretary, as its Chairperson. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall of the Lagos House in Ikeja on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 .
The five-member commission, representing the state’s traditional divisions, comprises:
•Mr. Fatai Olalekan Lasisi
•Mr. Lateef Yahaya Olawale
•Mr. Afolabi Olatunji Sobowale
•Mr. Rufus Adekoya Adedapo
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the commission’s pivotal role in promoting integrity, fairness, and efficiency within the civil service. He stated, “Your decisions will impact the quality of services millions of Lagosians depend on, from education and healthcare to security and infrastructure”.
Speaking on behalf of the commission, Mrs. Dapo-Thomas expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to advance the administration’s vision. She affirmed, “We will devote our efforts and capabilities to drive the Governor’s vision and ensure the civil service remains a competent, efficient, and forward-looking workforce.”
The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, lauded the Governor’s commitment to appointing capable individuals, noting that the new commission members’ expertise would significantly influence the civil service’s policy direction and operational excellence.
