Anambra Governorship Race: APC Generates N350m from Nomination Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised N350 million from the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of its April 5 governorship primary in Anambra State.

At least seven aspirants purchased the N50 million forms before the deadline on Tuesday, February 25. They include Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Nicholas Ukachukwu, Chukuma Umeoji, Paul Chukwuma, Onunkwo Obinna, Valentine Ozigbo, and Edozie Madu.

However, only four aspirants have submitted their completed forms.

According to a schedule released by the National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, the sales of nomination, expression of interest, and delegate forms began on February 10 and closed on February 25.

The screening of aspirants is scheduled to take place from March 7 to 8, followed by the publication of screening results on March 10. The delegates’ congress will be held on April 2, while the governorship primary election is set for April 5. On April 6, the congress will ratify the election results, and the final list of nominated candidates will be submitted to the National Working Committee (NWC) on April 8. The official campaign period for the APC will commence on June 11, culminating in the grand finale on November 6.
