2027: Amaechi Rules Out Stepping Aside, Declares for ADC Presidential Ticket

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has officially declared his intention to contest for the presidency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), dismissing suggestions that he might withdraw from the race.

Speaking at a consultative meeting with party leaders and supporters, Amaechi emphasized that he is fully committed to the ADC platform and has no plans to step down for any other aspirant. He described his decision as a firm step toward offering Nigerians an alternative to the dominant parties, stressing that the country needs fresh leadership anchored on credibility and capacity.

Amaechi highlighted his experience in governance, pointing to his record as a two-term governor of Rivers State and his years of service as minister. According to him, these roles have prepared him to tackle Nigeria’s challenges if elected president.

Party insiders revealed that the ADC leadership has been holding discussions with Amaechi to consolidate support across the country. His entry into the race, they said, could significantly boost the party’s profile ahead of the 2027 elections.

Amaechi, while urging Nigerians to look beyond old political structures, assured that his campaign will be issue-based, focusing on security, economic recovery, infrastructure, and job creation.
